- Replacing pickups with better or different type for improved tone, sustain, switching options ( coil tap ), and reduced noise and feedback.
- Installing coil tap switches to select single coil tone or full humbucking tone. We can install separate switches, a master tap switch, or install push / pull tone controls.
- Install phase, or series / parallel switches for a variety of tone switching options.
- Install a mute / kill switch.
- Install an “add bridge”, or “blower” switch on a 3 pickup instrument for new pickup combinations.
- Replace the vintage 3 way Strat type switch with a 5 way version for more pickup combinations.
- Installing internal shielding and shielded cable to reduce pickup noise, buzz and hum.
- Replace the stock tone capacitors with better types to improve the tone controls response.
- Modify the volume controls to prevent the loss of highs when you roll back the volume. ( You do roll back the volume sometimes….right ? )
- Installing TBX type tone controls for control of lows and highs from a single control….more versatile than stock tone controls.
- Installing Fender “No Load” tone controls that actually switch out of the circuit when full up to allow all the highs to come through.
- Replacing poor quality jacks, switches and controls that come stock in so many instruments, even in brand name instruments. This vastly improves the reliability and the tone as well.
- Appearance mods include changing the pickguard to Pearl, Tortoise, Vintage, 3 layer, and many more. Changing the color, adding, or removing pickup covers. Changing the color or type of knobs, plastic and metal….and many, many more.
- Changing the saddles and nut to Graph Tech or Tusq type improves sustain and reduces string breaking.
- Replaced the tuners with better, higher ratio type improves tuning stability. We carry tuners from Grover, Sperzel, Gotoh, Schaller, Fender, and Gibson.
- Replace Les Paul type bridges and tailpieces with Tone Pros type to improve sustain and tone.
- Replacing a stock bridge with a better type for improved tone and intonation, such as installing a wider travel Les Paul type bridge, or replacing the 3 saddle Tele type bridge with a 6 saddle bridge.
- Setup mods include resetting for drop tuning, modifying the bridge and nut for larger gauge strings, resetting a Floyd Rose type bridge, and adjusting the neck and action for drop tuning.
